We are Reopening!
What may appear to have been several months of hibernation for the Washington House Museum actually entailed extensive cleaning, reorganizing and updating exhibits. Our museum volunteers worked diligently in all areas to ensure a fresh, exciting welcome for everyone.
Always a popular spot for both new and returning visitors, we are happy to announce 12pm-5pm are the open hours for the remainder of May 2022 on the following days:
- Friday, May 27
- Saturday, May 28
- Sunday, May 29
Regular open hours then resume Wednesday through Sunday, 12pm-5pm beginning June 1 through September 4, 2022. Please stop in to tour the museum, have fun exploring the new exhibits, learn more about what our community has to offer and be sure to stop in the ice cream shop for a special treat. We look forward to seeing you!

Ice Cream Sundae Stamp
The Washington House Museum was selected by the US Postal Service as the site of the First Day Of Sale for its new ice cream-themed stamps. As the historic home of the ice cream sundae, the Washington House became its own post office for a day on June 30, 2016, issuing stamp memorabilia, hosting a presentation by the US Postal Service, canceling stamped mail and of course, serving ice cream sundaes.
